What does honey consist of?
Honey is a natural product made by bees using nectar they collect from flowers. This process is a fascinating collaboration between nature's tiny pollinators and plants, resulting in the delicious, golden liquid we know as honey. But what does it actually contain? Honey contains fructose, dextrose, minerals, proteins and flavorings from the flowers the bees have collected nectar from. So what gives honey its flavor is the flowers that the bees have visited. Therefore, there will also be differences between honey produced at different times of the year. Our Danish heather heather honey for example, is a seasonal honey made from nectar from heather flowers collected on the Danish heaths.
From nectar to honey - A natural process
Honey is made from nectar that bees collect from flowers and store in their honeycombs on the way to the hive. Nectar is a sugary liquid that flowers produce to attract bees and other pollinators. The nectar is then stored in hives and matures into delicious honey that beekeepers can harvest a few times a year.

In fact, you can only call a product honey if it is 100% natural. Therefore, products with added water and sugar are not honey at all, although some people may try to deceive you with this.
However, you can always be sure that honey from Jakobsens is 100% real honey.
