Chai Latte with honey

Ingredients

  • 10 cardamom pods
  • 7 whole cloves
  • 6 peppercorns
  • 40 g ginger
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 3 dl water
  • 5 tbsp. black tea
  • 1 tbsp. Jakobsens Acacia honey
  • 6 dl milk
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish

Preparation

1. crush the cardamom pods in a mortar and pestle and scrape out the black cardamom seeds.

2. Toast cardamom seeds, whole cloves and peppercorns in a hot dry pan.

3. The spices should just open up, so toast for 3-4 minutes at medium heat.

4. Place the spices in a mortar and pestle and pestle.

5. Place the ground spices, cinnamon stick, ginger, sugar, acacia honey and water in a small saucepan and bring to the boil.

6. Remove the pot from the heat and add black tea to the pot. Stir it together and let it steep for 6-7 minutes.

7. Strain your chai tea into a cup and add hot milk. (If you don't have a fancy coffee maker or milk frother, you can heat the milk in a saucepan and whisk it vigorously to get about 1 cm of foam on top (if you're using whole milk)).

8. Sprinkle with cinnamon through a sieve and enjoy immediately!
