The honeycomb cookie creature

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 80 g Jakobsens Danish Flower Honey
  • 40 g milk
  • 320 g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda without top
  • 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • Royal icing:
  • 0.5 egg white
  • 120 g icing sugar
  • optional chocolate ball as a nose

Preparation

1. Melt the butter, sugar, Danish flower honey and milk in a saucepan over low heat.

2. Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.

3. Once the mixture in the pan has melted, sift in the dry ingredients.

4. Remove the pan from the heat and stir everything together until the dough has come together.

5. Roll out the dough between two pieces of baking paper to a thickness of approx. 5 mm. Place it on a tray or baking sheet and let the dough rest in the fridge overnight or for at least 2 hours.

6. Preheat the oven to 180º.

7. Cut out reindeer (excess dough can be gathered, rolled out and cut out if missing)

8. Place the reindeer on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in the oven for 8 minutes.

9. Cool the honey cookies.

Royal icing:

1. Place the ingredients in a bowl and bring them together with a whisk.

2. Place the icing in an airtight piping bag with a small round tip.

Collection:

1. Now decorate each reindeer with the icing. Use the icing as a kind of glue if you want to add a small chocolate ball as a nose.

2. Put the reindeer on your coffee cup, hot chocolate or glass of mulled wine and serve!
